As a marketing agency, we are helping our customers answer these questions. Here are some examples of our recent projects:
- We helped a software company find new markets and customer bases for their software and develop new outlets on which to sell their products to increase their cash flow.
- For a guitar company, we created a new online content strategy that includes interactive features and community building areas to attract more visitors to their site, increasing exposure of their products and developing brand loyalty. The project included visitor research and a survey providing solid data to support their the plan.
- We helped an architect create a new income opportunity via eCommerce sales of his artwork.
We offer a wide range of services and if we don't take the time to ask our customers about their unique situations and really get to know them, we don't know how we can help them. We are able to customize each project to the client's needs. Are you thinking this way?
Some suggested ideas:
1. Show your customers you appreciate their business, by offering them a holiday discount or a free add on service this month.
2. Schedule meetings with each of your customers this month, just to check in and see how they are doing. Every business owner I know is struggling right now, so lend an ear to listen to them and see how you can help.
3. Take a look at your menu of services or product line and spend some time brainstorming on new markets or uses with your team. Define one or two new target areas and start networking. Find a friend of a friend in that field and take them out to lunch. Feel them out on your ideas or ask them for suggestions in how to break into that area. It is amazing what great advice you can get and contacts you can make through a $15 dollar lunch.
4. Read a trade magazine and e-mail someone interesting who is interviewed or written an article that appeals to you. Congratulate them on the feature and comment on what you liked. Introduce yourself and your company to them and invite them to start a dialog to you. You'll be surprised at the responses you get!
5. Do some online research, find some data or ideas that could be helpful to your customers and proactively present them to your contact with a clear plan on how you could implement the plan for them and how it will benefit them. I have found that most clients are really thrilled when you do this and often it is something they were thinking about doing, but haven't had the time or know-how to get it done and you become their hero. Plus you generate some new billable hours!
Okay so there are five great ideas, no go give one of them a try and let me know your results! Go team go...
